Yesterday I filled up (umm yeah) with a $10 gas card I recently received. It was so nice not to not have to pay out of my wallet. Even getting the card was cool just because I checked out a used car sale at my credit union I qualified to get the card. Not bad huh!

Ok I usually carry lots of change in my wallet making it very heavy. So this morning I finally decided to empty it.

$4 in quarters to the laundry jar
$2.88 for my dd from the recycling we did
$.57 for the coin jar

I'm not sure how this is going to work but I was thinking of adding to the coin jar weekly leftover change and whatever change I find around the house.

I used to be very organized about my finances. I would balance my checkbook, put most of my check into my savings or checking account, pay the few bills I had, then I grew up! Now I have the IRA, the 401k, more bills, the kid, and I don't balance my checkbook - ahhh! In spite of this I do a fairly good job of saving but I want to do better.

My goal here is to get my finances organized so I can get a good handle on them and learn more.
